The Swiss are so civilized

At least the folks of Zurich are. They've just approved a measure giving same-sex couples the same rights and benefits as heterosexual married couples. It's not quite marriage, but it's darn close.

And they just joined the United Nations. What's next? We can only watch, in awe and wonder.

International House of Logorrhea: Online Dictionary of Unusual Words.

Steve Chrisomalis has compiled a dictionary of words that, for the most part, are no longer included in any dictionary. They have been abandoned, poor things, and Steve has adopted them. Given them a place to live, and made them accessible once again to you and I.

Who ever knew that "abattoir" would fall out of common usage?
